Canadian International School (CIS) in Singapore, formerly known as Canadian Overseas College and later renamed Canadian International School (Singapore), was established in 1989 with six high school students and six teachers, and now has over 3,000 students from over 70 countries around the world. CIS offers the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) curriculum for students in grades K-12, including the Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), Middle Years Programme (B MYP) and High School Programme (B DP). CIS is also supported and approved by the Province of Ontario, Canada for the Ontario Senior Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). High School Level
IBDP Program (Grade11-Grade12): Program of Study: The IB program offers students six subjects - both general level and advanced level subjects. Students are required to take no fewer than three and no more than four advanced level subjects.
In addition, the program includes three special core subjects: a. Thesis - the application of knowledge and research skills; b. Epistemological Essay - interdisciplinary study; c. Creative Action - Service extra-curricular activities - to enhance the development of personal social and civic awareness.

IB Scores
In 2021, the average score for the IB exams at CIS was 38. Five candidates scored a perfect 45 and nine candidates scored 44. About 37% of the candidates scored 40 and above, and about 2/3 of the candidates scored 35 and above again. Students were admitted to several prestigious international universities, including 120 American universities, 106 British universities, 39 Canadian universities, 20 Australian universities, 38 European universities, and 29 Asian universities.
